What happened?
In early 2023 plans were set for the Woodward team to head to Peterborough, in support of the completion of Crown Bevcan’s largest beverage can manufacturing facility in Europe.
As Office Manager, Bethan is a lynchpin of the day to day running of the business, with a keen eye for detail and knowledge of
One of Bethan's challenges to solve this time was finding the right accommodation in a new city, and the right people locally to support her and the team over the next 10 months.
Beth's first requirement was to set up a base for the core team of 4 who would be here in Peterborough every week, including some weekends.
How did we help?
The team needed a spacious property, giving all 4 guys enough room and flexibility to work and live together comfortably. Location was a key factor too, as reducing travel distances would minimise time and costs spent off site.
Planning ahead for the team's arrival date, we put forward our popular contractor accommodation Peterborough's Vale Drive, just 7 minutes drive from the Crown site entrance via London Road.
This fitted well with Bethan's budget, and knowing that our in-house cleaning team refreshed all beds and linens every Monday morning meant there would be no worries about last minute team changes.
We were there for Bethan as the project's requirements grew, knowing that private parking was a must at every property we put forward, as well as no more than 2 team members to every bathroom.
Our range of properties and flexibility meant we could also support some of Woodward's partners and subcontractors as the pace of work picked up on site, and as more team members arrived.
By checking in with Bethan and the team regularly we kept ahead with plans and stayed prepared for updates.
Moving quickly, we provided two more short term accommodation Peterborough apartments, our 2 bedroom properties at Kirkwood Close, within 10 minutes of the site.
What was the result for Bethan?
On top of the day-to-day, managing the expectations of a big team is challenging. For the guys on site too, work is a big part of their lives, and when away from home it can be stressful and lonely.
Sometimes it helps to catch-up, have a chat and a laugh about things, remembering people look back knowing you did your best.
Bethan had the right people, not just the right properties, to support her and the team at Woodward throughout 2023, helping them put another major project under their belt.

What happened?
When home no longer feels like home, it's like life is turned upside down. For Jacqueline, a burst pipe in the middle of Summer 2021 made her beloved family home uninhabitable.
The extensive water damage put a question mark on how life would look for at least the next few months, but Jacqueline was straight on to her insurer to get things moving.
Next, Jacqueline found Midlands Managed Properties online to see if we could help provide the right level of accommodation for her and her son.
Frustratingly for Jacqueline, the burst pipe wasn't the only problem she would be up against in a seemingly unfair situation.
How did we help?
Our team was on the case with a suitable option presented the next morning; a well-furnished, self catering apartment here in the city, with private parking and weekly housekeeping as standard.
Jacqueline would need to present options to her insurer first before being able to book a short stay, and knowing this we responded fast with all the details she would need to pass on.
Any time we could save her at the start would mean less time worrying and having to make plans with friends, family or at her own expense.

Strangely though. things went quiet.
Three months went by until a phone call came through to us. It was Jacqueline, and Damien took the call.
Surprisingly, she explained that in the 3 months since her first email to us, and despite her situation, Jacqueline's insurer still hadn't given her authorisation to book somewhere.
She was disheartened, losing faith that she would get the help she needed and deserved, and so asked for our advise.
This time, following our conversation, Jacqueline went back to her insurer and within 24 hours we received an email from them asking if we could make our apartment immediately available.
What was the result for Jacqueline?
With our teams advice and support it was a great result for Jacqueline, feeling both relived and positive that things were finally moving along for her.
It's because of this that just 2 days later Damien welcomed Jacqueline and her son Oliver to our apartment at Yorkshire House.
With everything set up ready for them to relax into a comfortable stay, a sense of normality was restored.
Over the next 3 months we handled communications and updates with the insurer's agents to keep booking extensions in place until work was completed on Jacqueline's home.
Finally, just after the New Year, and almost 6 months after the event, Jacqueline and Oliver were able to return home.

From the moment I spoke to Damien after finding Midlands Managed Properties online my stress levels were greatly reduced as he reassured me that the apartment would be ideal for me and my son.
Damien was true to his word it did feel safe, secure and perfect location for us even with a parking space. It was like a holiday home.
The apartment was immaculate, fully furnished. Weekly service including clean linen and cleaned throughout.

What happened?
Tony had a problem to solve for his team who were already down here in Peterborough. In fact, he had two problems.
First, 4 of his guys who were staying at a house near the city were not happy with their living conditions and cleanliness of the place they'd been booked into. Second, Tony had at least three more groups of 2 team members about to join them.
So with 10 team members needing better quality accommodation at a price to fit Tony's budget, and as soon as possible, the challenge was on.
As Office Administrator, sorting the accommodation for the project was just one task on his rapidly growing list, and all options we put forward would need to be approved by Headland's senior team.
How did we help?
On our first chat with Tony we listened and understood the challenges he needed to solve, and how we could work best to get him the right result fast.
Tony didn't have time to keeping going over accommodation options with different providers. He needed to know we would get it right first time.
That meant certainty his team would be given a better standard of living at our properties, with the option to extended his bookings and swap out team members as the project progressed.
Solving part of the challenge for Tony came through our team being on the ground here in Peterborough, meaning they could rely on us being their point of contact instead of Tony himself.
